Job Description: 1st Vice-President, Voter Services

 

As 1st VP, Voter Services, you will be in charge of arranging and managing  candidate forums and other events related to elections.  

 

Chief Duties of 1st VP, Voter Services:

  • Chair the Voter Services Committee and, with help from other board members, recruit members for said committee.
  • Several months before a primary or general election, take the lead in planning candidate forums or roundtables and supervising all contact with candidates. 
  • Take the lead in organizing ballot measure presentations.
  • Work with Director, Assistant Voter Services, on above and on managing database of election-related information.
  • Be knowledgeable about current League policies and best practices in Voter Services.  
  • In absence of President, take over President’s duties as needed.

With other board members:

  • Attend board meetings as scheduled whenever possible, typically once a month for 90 minutes on Zoom.
  • Plan and oversee League events and activities.
  • Protect the League’s nonpartisan reputation and educate members on the importance of this policy.
  • Encourage members to become more active in the League and take on leadership roles.
  • Help recruit new members.
  • Oversee financial condition of League; approve annual budget.
  • Educate yourself about League positions and organization on national, state, and local levels.
  • Work to promote the League’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policy.
