 Each year, this signature gathering brings together a dynamic community of nearly 2,000 leaders, partners, advocates, and supporters united by a shared vision of a more just and equitable society. This year, we will celebrate 55 years of impact – honoring the people, partnerships, and purpose that have shaped ACCESS’s legacy.

 Proceeds from the dinner directly support more than 120 programs serving thousands of individuals and families across Southeast Michigan, strengthening health, building opportunities, and advancing community well-being every day.

This year, we are proud to honor the extraordinary contributions of our 2026 Arab American of the Year, Dr. Wael Sakr

A nationally respected and accomplished medical educator, physician, researcher, and community leader, Dr. Sakr has spent decades as a patient-centered pathologist, advancing critical research with more than 250 peer-reviewed studies, mentoring the next generation of physicians, and building collaborations that strengthen both the field of medicine and our broader community. Dr. Sakr is known for leading with integrity and vision at institutions of national prominence, including in his current role as Dean of the Wayne State University School of Medicine.
