Are you registered to vote?
Are you sure?

Your vote is your voice — the most direct way to shape how your city, county, state, and country are governed. Whether you're passionate about change or simply want a say in who makes the laws that affect your daily life, voting is your power. But before you can cast a ballot, you must be registered.

In Tennessee, voter registration isn’t always permanent. County Election Commissions routinely update their rolls, and you may have been removed for reasons like:

  1. You moved to a different county — and in Oak Ridge, that’s easy to do. It spans both Anderson and Roane counties. If you’ve moved from one to the other, you need to reregister.
  2. You didn’t vote in either of the last two November elections.
  3. You changed your name (except through marriage).
  4. You were convicted of a felony.

Even if you think you’re registered, it’s worth double-checking. It’s quick and easy at GoVoteTN.gov. Just click “Check Registration Status,” enter your name, birthdate, and current county — and you’ll know in seconds. You can also visit the Tennessee Secretary of State’s website and navigate to Elections for all kinds of election information.

Don’t stop with yourself. Talk to your children, grandchildren, and friends — anyone 18 or older.

Voting isn’t just a right; it’s a responsibility we share as members of a democracy.

The most powerful thing you can do after registering is simple:

VOTE!
