Do you want to know who are the new companies coming to Oak Ridge as part of the nuclear renaissance - which ones have definite plans and which ones are still pondering? What, and how, are the initiatives being implemented by our signature community college - Roane State  - to meet this opportunity. What are the support certifications (security, computer technology, fuel cycle, radiation measurement, manufacturing, etc) that will be supporting this new industry.  Come and join us for a great presentation by a passionate educator on the future of Oak Ridge workforce education.

Teresa Duncan is the Vice President of Workforce and Community Development at Roane State Community College. In her current role, Teresa, along with her talented team, focuses daily on developing a strong workforce pipeline for the region. She provides oversight for Workforce Development, Tennessee Small Business Development Center, and the Cumberland Business Incubator.  She was recently named Lead Nuclear Workforce Strategist for the Tennessee Board of Regents to provide statewide coordination for the effective response to the nuclear workforce needs. She currently collaborates with the new nuclear industries to produce curriculum at RSCC that produces a viable and well-paid workforce.  These include not only nuclear technology but also support operations such as safety, project management, etc.

The public is invited to attend the lunch and lecture between 11:15 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church, 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike. All are welcome to bring their lunch or purchase a boxed lunch. Coffee and tea will be served. The presentation will begin at noon and end with questions and answers.
