A new law stipulates that voters must show a government-issued photo ID that has not expired or expired since the last general election. Voters without an acceptable ID could still vote a blue provisional ballot, but their votes won’t count if an election official didn't confirm that the signature  matched that on record. Provisional ballots were not allowed for people who voted in-person.

Karen Leith, LWV Ohio State Advocacy Chair, will discuss how LWV studies a topic and comes to a position through research and an in-depth vetting process across state leagues.

In the past few weeks our league volunteers registered new voters at area high schools, with the help of some students - We organized Voter Registration tables at local high schools to register students who will be 18 years old by election day. Schools that particiapted:  Hudson, Nordonia, Stow, Walsh Jesuit, and Western Reserve Academy. We also had some student helpers work with us! Studies show that voters who begin voting at a young age will continue to vote throughout their life time.
