Meeting Summary:

PUBLIC COMMENT

Detective DeSerio reported 277 calls for service in January, including theft, premises checks, suspicious persons, assistance to the rescue squads, juvenile complaints, traffic stops, and welfare checks, among others.

ROAD, ZONING AND FIRE REPORTS

Mr. Russell noted that the condition of the roads in the township, which need patching and resurfacing, matches that of surrounding communities. Also, Mr. Akerley reported that the Judson Rd. bridge will remain closed until further notice because the repairs needed are more extensive than expected.

Mr. Ciccozzi informed the trustees that cars are parked on a vacant lot on Court Street; Mr. Ciccozzi will investigate further.

Mr. Smith reported that the new warning siren for Phillips Park is being shipped and will arrive soon; B&C Communications will get it scheduled for installation when it arrives.

OLD BUSINESS

A resolution authorizing the township to enter into an agreement with the City of Kent for design and project costs associated with the Hudson Road repaving project was approved by all three trustees.

Zoning Commission member Greg Huck will be the township's Portage County Regional Planning Commission alternate if Mr. Ciccozzi cannot attend.
This appointment was moved and then approved by all three trustees.

Mr. Swan reported on the possible installation of a blinking light at the intersection of Ferguson and Ravenna roads. Mike Collins of the county engineer’s office will put in a work order for a traffic/accident study for the intersection.

NEW BUSINESS

Two parcels of land adjacent to the township garage are to be deeded back to Franklin Township by the county commissioners based on an agreement from the 1970s.

FINANCES

A resolution authorizing a transfer of $50,000 from the JEDD fund to the Fire fund was approved after a motion and vote by all three trustees.

All three trustees passed a vote to approve payment of bills totaling $144,162.70.
