Meeting Summary:

PUBLIC COMMENT
Detective DeSerio reported that 279 calls for service were answered by the sheriff's department in October, including property complaints, traffic stops, thefts, sexual assaults, domestic disputes, welfare checks, accidents, and assistance to other agencies.

The manager of the Burnt Pickle and his attorney addressed the trustees with a request for exceptions to zoning, building, or fire guidelines for sporadically held events. Current occupancy limitations prevent them from holding some events they would like to schedule.
Mr. Swan responded that no such exception can be made because zoning regulations, fire code requirements, and building department guidelines are not set based on the frequency of events but rather on issues of safety and the needs of nearby property owners.

The owner of Lakeview Events at Parkside addressed the board with a proposal to consider tying into the natural gas well near their facility with is owned by the township. The topic will be looked into and discussed at a future meeting.

Fire chief Bill Myers, addressed the board to express his gratitude for the outpouring of community support and for all the first responders on the scene of the mill fire.

ROAD REPORT
Mr. Akerley will move forward with the purchase of a new hot water tank, generator and better lighting for the maintenance garage provided these qualify under the NOPEC grant projects criteria.

ZONING REPORT
Mr. Ciccozzi reported that the Portage County DD Board wishes to erect a home run fence at the Brady Lake ballfield. The trustees are agreeable to this.

FIRE REPORT

OLD BUSINESS
Interior painting at the town hall was discussed; the trustees asked Mr. Ackerley to determine if the crew needs to paint.

A flyer will be created and distributed to residents on streets most impacted by street-parked cars during snow plowing. In addition, a reminder will be placed on the website about not parking in the the street during snow events.

Spring cleanup signs will be ordered to reflect that cleanup will take place on the last weekend in April.

NEW BUSINESS
A D1 liquor permit request was received from TRICO PIZZA INC (Pizza Hut) on East Main St.; the trustees have no objection to this.

FINANCES
An invoice for $217, 957 was approved to refurbish a medical unit as agreed to in 2021.

Appropriations for the 2023 year were approved by all trustees.

Payment of bills totaling $519, 650.69 were approved by all trustees.

After a meeting suspension to go into executive session, the meeting was resumed with a motion to provide bonuses of $1,000 each to Jennie August, Joe Ciccozzi, Richard Smith, and Dave Ackerley. All three trustees approved.
