Meeting Summary:

The meeting was held at 6:00 pm in the middle school cafeteria. Superintendent Hawkins presented reports from committees under old business. A representative from the Lions Club presented awards to one student from each of the three buildings. Several family members were in attendance, most of whom left after the presentation. One community member raised a concern about dress code enforcement. Superintendent Hawkins referenced the dress code policy and said it would be reviewed.

Treasurer’s report was accepted. Middle school and high school course catalogs and building phone systems were approved.

Building principals were all present, and each one discussed building goals. The elementary school principal addressed the need for social and emotional curriculum development and would welcome the addition of a social worker on staff.

Under new business, Amanad Waesch said conservation science would be a course to consider in the future. She shared concerns for struggling students. Doug Saltsman suggested study of safety lanyard system for staff members.

The meeting then went to an executive session.
