2024 Ohio primary calendar

2024 PRIMARY ELECTION | MARCH 19, 2024

  • JAN 1--Applications for absentee ballots for ALL elections held in 2024 may be accepted.

  • FEB 2--Military & Overseas Voting Begins.

  • FEB 20--Deadline to Register to Vote. HOW TO REGISTER

  • FEB 21--Early In-Person Voting at Boards of Elections begins and includes the Saturday, March 16 , and Sunday, March 17, before Election Day. NO MONDAY, MARCH 18 HOURS!

Office hours for early in-person voting can be found here when posted by Portage County Board of Elections or listed below. MAP to Portage County BOE, 449 S. Meridian St., Ravenna, Ohio. Here are Portage County early voting dates and times:

EARLY VOTING SCHEDULE PORTAGE COUNTY

      • Weekdays, Feb. 21 - March 8: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. In-person early voting

      • Saturday, March 9: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

      • Monday, March 11: 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

      • Tuesday, March 12: 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

      • Wed. - Friday, March 13 - 15: 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. In-person early voting

      • Saturday, March 16: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. In-person early voting

      • Sunday, March 17: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. In-person early voting; EARLY VOTING ENDS

      • Monday, March 18: NO EARLY VOTING

      • Monday, March 18: Mailed absentee ballots must be postmarked by this date

      • Tuesday, March 19: Polls are open 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

 

  • FEB 21--Absentee Voting By Mail starts. See below for link to download application.

  • MAR 12--Deadline for absentee ballot applications to be received by county Boards of Elections. 

  • MAR 18--Deadline to postmark your mail ballot AND it must be received by the Board of Elections by MARCH 23. We suggest you drop in the dropbox at your Board of Elections office. Portage County Board of Elections is located at the county administration building, 449 S. Meridian St., Ravenna, OH. MAP

  • MAR 19--Election Day: Tuesday, August 8. Polls open 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Find your polling place here. 

  • MAR 19, 7:30 PM--Deadline for mailed ballots to be personally delivered to your County Board of Elections. Portage County Board of Elections: MAP

  • MAR 23--Deadline for boards to receive mail-in ballots that have been postmarked on or before NOV 6.
