"Voice, Values and Victory: Trauma's Impact During Our Current Political Climate" is the topic of the Jan. 8 All Member Meeting at 7 p.m. in Hobbs Hall, 217 N. Mantua St., Kent. The speaker is Bobbi Beale, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist and co-director of the Center for Innovative Practices and the child and adolescent behavioral health COE at Case Western Reserve University.
The presentation will begin with a shared understanding of the neuroscience of trauma, followed by a discussion about the impact of trauma within the current political climate. Beale also will consider how our personal and shared values can ground us during uncertain times. Finally, Beale will highlight the importance of community and inspiration and the need to perhaps redefine victory. Along the way, Beale will share the intersectionality of her identity so that everyone can fully understand that for all of us, the personal is political.
