This month's program topic is Ohioans for Gun Safety, a grassroots organization exploring common-sense background checks for gun safety in Ohio. The event is open to all Kent Leaguers and interested community members. 

The organization recently resubmitted petition language that would call for the Ohio General Assembly to pass a bill that would expand background checks for guns purchased online and at gun shows. See the petition here.

As Ohioans and Americans, members of the organization understand the need to balance individuals' rights and responsibilities in order to stop gun violence and gun tragedies. By listening to and having conversations with Ohioans about their experiences and ideas, Ohioans for Gun Safety believes it it can build a broad-based, inclusive coalition that will, ultimately, make Ohio a safer place for the state's children and grandchildren through common-sense background checks for gun safety.
