Legal debt is the leading cause of bankruptcy in Portage County. To learn more, join us for a presentation titled “Unveiling Portage County’s Hidden Crisis: Pretrial Detention, Fines and Fees.” The program will include a discussion of the impact of legal debt on Portage County and its citizens followed by a community brainstorming session about possible solutions to the problem and information on what individuals can do now to lessen the harmful effects of legal debt.

The event is co-sponsored by the ACLU Portage County Action Team, the League of Women Voters of Kent and the NAACP Portage County Chapter. Parking for the event will be available in the gravel lot by the church and in city parking spaces north of the venue.
