Register now for our March 25 Statehouse Day!

We're excited to announce LWVO's 2026 Statehouse Day, happening on Wednesday, March 25 on Capitol Square in downtown Columbus.

Join us for a special celebration of the Ohio Women's Monument in the morning, then enjoy a keynote lunch with elections experts who will explain the days' advocacy priorities. Every attendee will receive fun new LWVO swag, learn best practices for lobby visits, and network with other League members. If you are interested, you may join a team of advocates to educate lawmakers on our 2026 election policy priorities. Local Leagues can also pick up free nonpartisan elections educational materials to use in their home communities.

Here’s our schedule for Statehouse Day, Wednesday, 03/25/26, with legislative visits (if you choose to participate) happening all day:

9am - 11am @ the Ohio Statehouse
→9am | Registration
→10am | Ohio Women’s Monument Groundbreaking with Artist Brenda Councill and dignitaries

11:15 - 1:30pm @ Plaza Hotel Capitol Square (right across the street from the Statehouse)

→11:15am | Keynote Lunch with LaVera Scott, President of Ohio Association of Elections Officials
→12:15 | Election policy panel discussion with LaVera Scott and Brian Mead, Director of the Licking County Board of Elections, moderated by LWVO Executive Director Jen Miller

Keynote Speaker is from the Toledo!

We’re so excited to share that LaVera Scott, President of the Ohio Association of Elections Officials, will be our 2026 Statehouse Day Keynote Speaker.  (She's also the co-Director of the Lucas County Board of Elections!)

LaVera Scott has served as the Director of Elections for Lucas County since 2017. Elected as Second Vice President of the Ohio Association of Election Officials (OAEO) in 2024, and First Vice President in 2025, Ms. Scott received her accreditation as a Registered Election Official and completed her coursework for national certification by the Election Center – Professional Education Program in 2020. She has also served in leadership roles within the OAEO, including a four-year tenure as Co-Chair of the Legislative Committee and a Trustee since 2020. Her dedication to advocating for voter rights and shaping electoral legislation has earned her the respect of her peers and the recognition of the OAEO, which awarded her Volunteer of the Year in 2022.
