Moderated by Sarah M Stitzlein, Ph.D. Professor of Education, Affiliate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cincinnati, President of the John Dewey Society, and Co-Editor of the journal, Democracy & Education. Sarah Stitzlein authored American Public Education and the Responsibility of Its Citizens: Supporting Democracy in an Age of Accountability and Learning How to Hope: Reviving Democracy through Schools and Civil Society among several others.

Guest Speaker Jack Schneider: Dwight W. Allen Distinguished Professor, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Executive Director, Beyond Test Scores Project, Director, Center for Educational Policy, Co-Editor, History of Education Quarterly. Jack Schneider is the author of three books, a co-author (with Jennifer Berkshire) of A Wolf at the Schoolhouse Door: The Dismantling of Public Education and the Future of School (The New Press), and an award winning education historian. New book coming out Summer 2024: The Education Wars: A Citizen’s Guide and Defense Manual.
