Montgomery County doubles Voter Services satellite offices, increases ballot drop boxes
NORRISTOWN — The Montgomery County Board of Elections has authorized the expansion of satellite offices and drop boxes in advance of the 2024 General Election.
Montgomery County voters will soon have eight Voter Services satellite offices and a total of 18 ballot drop boxes available across the county to meet the expected demands of the Nov. 5 election. On Primary Election Day, Fair Districts PA volunteers from across the state again donned their FDPA apparel and invited voters to sign a petition in support of an Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) to draw our congressional and state legislative maps. At the May 2 Zoom forum, Mapping Pennsylvania’s Future, Senator Kearney announced Senate Bill 1076, a companion bill to House Bill 1776. The co-sponsor memo is now circulating. The bill will be introduced soon. Click here to read more. HB 1776 and SB 1076 are critical bills which would codify an Independent Redistricting Commission into law for future redistricting cycles. On May 8th, almost 40 League members from 13 Leagues gathered at the Pennsylvania State Capitol for our 2024 Lobby Day. League members met with 20 different PA legislators to discuss important issues that affect Pennsylvanians. We at LWVPA were thrilled to see such an impressive show of power!
