Position

The Shoreline Management Act was one of the first environmental laws passed in the state and came about from a citizens’ initiative.

Position

Support local and regional water and land use policies and decisions which adequately protect resources such as undisturbed wetlands, estuaries, unique scenic areas, undisturbed riparian habitat, native species preservation, water quality, and water quantity.

LWVDDH supports coordinated long-range planning by state, county, and local authorities for the entire River Rouge Basin in both flood control and pollution abatement, with special attention to environmental factors.

We support legislations and measures that will mitigate environmental issues and provide sustainable processes. We also support the proper implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act.

Support for prudent management of water resources, both surface and underground to insure quality of water in the Cache Creek watershed, one of Yolo County's major resources of ground water.

Support aggressive action to achieve government policies which will provide maximum protection to the Spokane Valley-Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer.
