Portage Park District Executive Director Christine Craycroft and two members of her staff, Public Engagement Manager Andrea Metzler and Education Program Coordinator Jennifer White will talk about the park district and progress on the district's new master plan at the LWVK All Member Meeting on November 17 at 7 p.m. on Zoom.

The new program year for the League of Women Voters of Kent will kick off online Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. New member orientation begins at 6 p.m. We have scheduled the event for the same night as the monthly online All Member Meeting. Log on to hear a presentation about microaggressions in everyday life. The speaker is Sunny Matthews, a motivational speaker focusing on issues of diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism.

We'll hear from LWV Kent member Terrie Nielsen, also on staff at the Portage County Board of Elections, about the 2020 Primary in Portage County and what's in store for the General in November. It's complicated.

They've been hard at work to bring us the story of NEO suffragists who were important to the movement that confirmed womens' right to vote. The Kent LWV Centennial Committee will be giving their presentation for the first time at the February All Member Monthly. Free and open to the public.
