The League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge will conduct a workshop on parliamentary procedures (Robert’s Rules of Order) on Tuesday, January 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m in the Social Room of the Oak Ridge Civic Center. The workshop is free and open to the public. It will be valuable to anyone who attends, chairs, or participates in meetings—government officials; board members of local civic, religious, and educational organizations; members of corporate boards; and members and officers of student organizations. Registration is not necessary. The snow date is January 21, same time and venue.
Workshop leader Judy Poulson is expected to provide an effective, yet simple and lively, presentation on parliamentary procedure for individuals who participate in meetings of any type of organization or governing body. Judy is a trained parliamentarian who loves doing workshops to educate others on how to have productive meetings. She has been a member of the League of Women Voters for over 50 years and currently keeps the membership records for the Knoxville-Knox County League. During tax season, Judy is the coordinator for a VITA tax preparation site in Knoxville. In what spare time she can find, she enjoys golf, reading, watching baseball and working jigsaw puzzles.
