REDISTRICTING-FAQs Attend Commission Hearings

REDISTRICTING-FAQs Attend Commission Hearings

Meetings are open to the public.  A schedule of upcoming and past meetings can be found at:  Public Meetings | Independent Redistricting Commission

Currently commission meetings are held virtually and are livestreamed.  To watch a meeting in progress you will need to navigate several steps on the IRC website:

Go to https://irc.az.gov

  1. Click on the phrase VIEW THE COMMISSION MEETINGS in red on the home page.  This will take you to a list of all meetings.
  2. Find the meeting that is happening and click on its Agenda link, also in red.
  3. This will take you to an agenda page where you will find a link to the live stream

Note that the links to view the livestream or the past recordings are unique for each meeting.  You must use the link in the agenda to view the video for that meeting.

In addition to regular business meetings the Commission holds Public Hearings on a variety of topics.  These hearings are held in person as well as live streamed at locations around the state.  They are an important opportunity for people to speak directly to the Commissioners on Communities of Interest, Grid Maps and the Draft Maps.  Check the IRC website to see the Public Hearings schedule. The schedule changes frequently as more hearings are added, so check back often for the latest information.

Recordings of past meetings

Recordings of past meetings can be accessed from the same meeting list page.  In this case you still go to the meeting schedule page and then click on the Agenda link of the past meeting you wish to view.  On that agenda page you will find a link to the video recording.  There is a time lag getting the videos loaded.  So if you don’t see a live link on the agenda, the recording is not yet available.
