Civic Education - Government 101 is a five part series that provides everyone with a learning opportunity to better understand American history, our government structures, the political systems and our voting rights.

Hear how Contra Costa County and nonprofits are meeting the challenge of the growing emotional and mental health impacts of the pandemic. Learn about the pathways to mental health resources offered by the county and nonprofits and the challenges to improving mental health outcomes as we seek to create a healthier and just recovery.

Interest in civilian oversight of law enforcement has grown significantly in the League and in our communities. This workshop is especially for League members who are new to this issue to help you get started. Experienced League members will benefit from hearing the latest research and what is happening in other Leagues across the country, with a special emphasis on Sheriffs.
The goals of this workshop are:
• To inspire you to start or expand your League's work in voter services, education, and advocacy related to civilian oversight of law enforcement;
• To give you concrete examples, people to talk with, and resources to help your League; and
• To highlight how essential community collaboration and the League's DEI commitment are to this work.
