Action & Advocacy

Action & Advocacy

Our Core Guidelines

The League of Women Voters takes action on an issue or advocates for a cause based on existing League positions that supports the issue or speaks to the cause.

Positions result from a process of study. Any given study, whether it be National, State, or Local, is thorough in its pursuit of facts and details.

Without a position, action/advocacy cannot be taken. In the absence of a local position, local Leagues can take action based on state positions or those of the national League.

Action Letters

When we decide to take an action, the first step is writing a letter of our findings and recommendation to the government entity. Letters we've served are available on our Action Letters page.
