The Natural Resources Committee is forming a Water Subcommittee in cooperation with the Beach Cities League and the L.A. County Interleague Organization’s Water & Infrastructure Group (WIG). Each month we will discuss an issue of regional interest with an emphasis on water. We will also discuss the impact of climate change on our regional infrastructure.

Our meetings will be held on the second Thursday of each month from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. via Zoom. We invite all League members to join the subcommittee. The Zoom link each month for Water Subcommittee meetings is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88358152110?pwd=aE1zT0lYVVBCc0FIQjdMWU9peU1WZz09.

Our first meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m. on October 14, 2021. We are pleased to welcome Matthew Hacker, who will be presenting “Groundwater 101: Introduction to Sustainable Groundwater Management in Southern California.” Hacker is a registered geologist in California and currently a senior resource specialist with the Metropolitan Water District. He has more than twenty-seven years of experience in water resources planning and local resource development in the areas of groundwater, stormwater, and water recycling.
