Welcome to LWV-PA’s inaugural issue of our e-Voter! As we begin a new year, I am asking all LWV-PA members to hear this: WE NEED ALL BOOTS, HEELS, and SNEAKERS ON THE GROUND IN 2020!

2020 will be one of the busiest years LWV has experienced for some time. For example, on deck is the first consolidated California Primary in March, a critical presidential election in November, and the 100-year anniversary of the founding of LWV in February!!!

My hope is that each and every LWV-PA member will engage with our League to maximize our capacity to deliver the new voting system information to the citizens in our thirteen service-area cities; to register new voters; to participate as timekeepers, question sorters, or moderators for candidate forums; and to raise our voices about the hundredth anniversary by participating in activities and events being planned by the Board.

Please lend your assistance to the Voter Services, Development, or Events Committee.  It’s important that we volunteers achieve depth in our capacity to deliver on all the activities. I am convinced that, with over 300 members, LWV-PA has the talent and energy to get the job done. Do not fret about whether you will know how to register voters or how to moderate a forum—you will be trained and prepared for whatever activity you sign up for. NOW IS THE TIME.

February is LWV’s birthday month, and we hope you will mark your calendars to be a part of as many events as you possibly can during this month. Turning 100 calls for a celebration, and we want you to help us usher in the next 100 years of the League of Women Voters.

You can call the office at 626-798-0965 to leave a message, go to our website at lwv-pa.org to sign up with a specific committee, or contact me directly at president [at] lwv-pa.org.

Yours in the Movement,

Patricia A. Coulter
