Please join this event on Facebook next Tuesday, May 5th, at 6 PM. We need a full complement of DC Statehood Coalition members to show how important we consider this issue.  The Mayor is already estimating having to cut our budget in the coming year and if DC were treated as if it were a state like it usually is when it comes to federal block grants, we would not be in such a deep budget hole.  Once again, Congress is playing with DC residents' lives to make political points.  Let's demand that we be treated with equity and respect and work to become a state so we don't have to keep doing this all the time!
