We are virtual again on Saturday, June 4, for the LWV-VA Council. While we miss being able to see one another in person, this format affords more accessibility for members. In addition to our business segment, we have an update from all four groups working on our program studies. This is a great opportunity to learn how these studies are progressing and ask questions of our hard-working program teams.
Our keynote speaker is Kelly Thomasson, former Secretary of the Commonwealth. We look forward to her insights into our current state of affairs. Two training sessions follow the keynote. Jes Davis, LWV Virginia Board Secretary and Assistant Director for Leadership and Civic Engagement for VT Engage at Virginia Tech, will conduct a leadership training program. Dorothy Heffron of RelectUS, will give tips on how we can encourage more women to run for office and join commissions.
