Grant Funds Available for Local Community Organizations from League of Women Voters Honolulu Education Fund
Application deadline is July 31, 2021
(May 24, 2021)—Funding is currently available to Oahu 501c3 non-profit organizations through the League of Women Voters Honolulu Education Fund (LWVHEF: https://lwvedfund.org). The grant-making organization is actively seeking submissions to fund non-profit projects and activities for the second half the year. Applications for this 2021 grant cycle are due by July 31, 2021.
LWVHEF distributed nearly $55,000 in grants for the previous grant cycle (FY2020/2021). The recipients included: Beta Beta Gamma Foundation, Hawaii Children’s Action Network, Hawaii Women in Filmmaking, Hawaii Youth Services Network, ioby’s Little Free Diverse Libraries, League of Women Voters Hawaii, League of Women Voters Honolulu, Lunalilo Home, Maunalua Fishpond Heritage Center, North Shore Community Land Trust, Ohu Ohu Koolau Inc., Protect & Preserve Hawaii Inc., Vote 411 and We Talk Story, Inc.
“Many non-profits are stretching their resources, or de-funding programs, to provide much needed services to residents and protect our environment, especially as we continue to experience the impact of the pandemic and the economic conditions in our community,” said Elizabeth Reilly, president of the LWVHEF board of directors. “We have a solution. If your organization meets the criteria, submit an application. We made it easy to apply and a little support can often go a long way.”
The general criteria for qualified applications includes: projects and activities that enhance and improve the general welfare of the people of Oahu, protect its natural environment, and implement plans to maintain or improve the quality of life of its citizens.
