LWV is fully committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in principle and in practice. These principles are central to LWV's committment to engaging all individuals, households, communities, and policy makers in creating a more perfect democracy. The LWV of the US also offers resources and training webinars on DEI.
What Does the League Do?
The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Hawai’i County is a local branch of the LWV of Hawaii State and the LWV of the U.S. The LWV encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The Hawai'i County League is a grassroots membership organization open to all. We have been active on Hawai'i Island since the 1960’s, working locally and with the State LWV of Hawaii and the national League in Washington DC.
When our LWV works to educate (voter registration, candidate forums, pro-con publications), we operate through our tax-exempt, local Ed Fund.

When we advocate on issues (e.g. for increased voter access,) we work through our local LWV.
