The League of Women Voters of Hawai'i County participated in the 2024 Hawai'i History Day district fair for Hawai'i Island district at UH Hilo on March 2nd, 2024.

Member Alexa Hustace organized an art activity that engaged students in thinking about elections by creating an origami "fortune teller" and their own campaign mini-posters.

Member Nina Buchanan interacted with students, teachers and community members at our voter registration and education table, and presented the League of Women Voters of Hawai'i County's award for an excellent student project demonstrates civic engagement, advocacy, and/or voter education on strengthening democracy and transparency. This is the 5th year LWVHC has sponsored the community award, and the award recipient will give a presentation at an upcoming general meeting.
