Wondering how you can get more involved this election season? We have some ideas! Here are a few ways that you can play a part in making the 2024 Primary and General Elections successful!
Spread the word
Become the go-to election expert in your group. Know the basics on voter registration and voting by mail. You’ll want to study our Voting in Hawaii page, but here’s a start:
- First-time registration is easy at elections.hawaii.gov.
- Always update your registration if you move or change your mailing address.
- Voting isn’t just one day in Hawaii, it’s many! Ballots arrive by mail 18 days before Election Day and are due by 7:00 PM on Election Day.
Simple, right? Now let everyone know. A great way to get the conversation started is by sending a quick text. We love, “Did you check if your voter registration is current?” We all sometimes need a little reminder!
Register new voters
Help your community get registered to vote. Life gets busy. It’s understandable if registering to vote isn’t top of mind. Be a hero by giving your neighbors a chance to register while they are out and about. Organize a voter registration table near a grocery store. Or know that an event is coming up? Great! Offering a convenient way to register to vote can make a huge impact.
If you are interested in hosting a voter registration drive, we can help. Visit our Voter Registration Drives page to review the guidelines and to request voter registration applications for your event.
Serve as an election volunteer
All those ballots need to get processed! Visit our Volunteer page to learn more about the many volunteer opportunities available, including helping to get mail ballots prepped for counting.
