Piilani Kaopuiki, President of the League of Women Voters of Hawaii State, will give a testimony at the upcoming meeting of the Hawai'i State Elections Commission on October 29th, 2019. Some of the points in her testimony include:

  • Request for information clarifying the basis for removal of 9% of Hawai'i's registered voters (69,270 voters) from registration rolls between November 2018 and the present
  • Request for additional safeguards to avoid unintentional mistakes, such as by publishing in advance the names of any individuals planned for removal from registration rolls
  • Request that all published deadlines be modified to clarify language that may be misleading regarding registration and voting periods and other important details.
