Join us for a conversation with newly elected Mayor Mitch Roth as our guest speaker on Saturday, April 17th, from 10 am to 12 pm via Zoom. The public is warmly invited to our Annual Meeting, which will include program planning and officer nominations for FY2021-22, committee reports, and implementation of revised bylaw changes.

SPEAKER'S BIO

Mitch Roth has a bachelor's degree from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and a Jurist Doctorate from Whittier Law School.

Before being elected Mayor of Hawai'i County on November 3, 2020, he served for eight years as the elected prosecuting attorney for the county. Under his leadership, a community outreach and training about sexual assault was established. His office also helped launch the Big Island Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center.

He is dedicated to helping young people achieve their goals, and is a board member of the Boy and Girls Club of the Big Island and of Camp Agape Big Island, a four-day camp for children of incarcerated parents.

 

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
