Speakers:
Kristina Murphy, Chair, Aurora Sustainability Board and
Meteorologist and Water Technical Lead, WSP Global, Environmental Consulting Company
Ivy Klee, Resource Management Coordinator, Kane County

The Midwest is one of the most fortunate regions in the world because we are fairly well protected from the effects of climate change.  However, we need to be aware of the changes we are already experiencing, including more frequent droughts, floods, and diseases.  We need to know how we can help to mitigate climate change through our own actions and how we can build community resilience to protect ourselves and our loved ones and leave the world a better place for future generations.

Ms. Murphy will talk about the current effects of climate change on our region, and Ms. Klee will give a presentation about the Climate Action and Implementation Plan that we are working on for Kane County and our municipalities.  Each will speak for 15 to 20 minutes.  Their talks will be followed by a question and answer session. You will not want to miss this timely program! The program is held in person and can also be accessed virtually by registering on the library's website: https://aurora.libnet.info/event/7464958
