Key Dates for Tuesday, November 5 General Election

  • Wednesday, August 7 |  Applications for Vote By Mail ballots open online, in person or by mail.
  • Thursday, Sept 26 |  Early Voting & Registration opens at the office of the election authority.
  • Thursday, Sept 26|  First day of mailing or delivery of Vote By Mail ballot.
  • Tuesday, October 8 |  Last day for voter registration (paper) by deputy registrars.
  • Wednesday, October 9 | First day for grace period registration and voting at the office of the Election Authority.
  • Sunday, October 20 |  Last day for online voter registration.
  • Monday, October 21 |  Early Voting & Registration opens in locations throughout DuPage County.
  • Thursday, Oct 31 |  Last day for vote by mail request to be received by the Election Authority.
  • Monday, November 4 |   Last day of Early Voting.
  • Tuesday, November 5 |  ELECTION DAY (6 am-7 pm)

A note on the minimum voting age:
Any citizen who will turn 18 years old by or on the General Election on November 5, 2024 is entitled to vote even if the voter is only 17 years old at the time of the Primary. As of 2023, Illinois State law allows 16 year olds to pre-register to vote. 

How to Vote Vote by Mail 

All registered voters in DuPage County are eligible to Vote by Mail. Apply online. Once a mail ballot has been returned to the Board, it cannot be retrieved or withdrawn. 

  • Wednesday, August 7 |  Applications for Vote By Mail ballots open online, in person or by mail.
  • Thursday, Sept 26 | First day of mailing or delivery of Vote By Mail ballot.
  • Thursday, Oct 31|   Last day for vote by mail request to be received by the Election Authority.
  • Tuesday, November 5 |  Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by November 19.

Vote Early

If you are unable to vote on Election Day or just want to skip the lines, vote early. Find your early voting location. Early voting ballots are final. You can also register to vote at every early voting site.

  • Thursday, Sept 26 |  Early Voting & Registration opens at the office of the election authority.
  • Monday, October 21 | Early Voting & Registration at locations throughout DuPage County.
  • Monday, November 4 |  Last day of Early Voting

 

Vote on Election Day — Tuesday, November 5, 2024

Find your voting location. The location of your polling place may have changed. Polling place hours are 6 am to 7 pm If you are in line by 7 pm, you are entitled to vote.

No ID is required to vote in your home precinct on Election Day unless you are voting for the first time and have registered by mail without verification. ​

Check your registration: Even if you think you are a registered voter, it is quick and easy to confirm by checking here. If you aren't registered, learn how to register. 
  

Research Your Ballot

Voters will vote for a candidate for United States Senate and Congress, as well as state and county positions. Voters must declare a party in order to vote in this election.
