Club Participants:  The League of Women Voters of Roselle/Bloomingdale Book Club is open to our members - and non-members. So plan to join us and bring a friend. Our Book Club is an easy way for members of the community to meet some of our League members and see what we are all about!

Meeting Schedule: Fridays 7-9 PM, once per quarter.

Reading Preferences: We read fiction and non-fiction books that we believe will open our minds, generate discussion, and empower us to help make the world a better place.  We also focus on books that allow our members to advance their understanding of public affairs, including political, social, economic, environmental, and other societal issues.

Book Selections: At each quarterly book club meeting, members nominate books for us to read and discuss at the next meeting.  Selection is by a simple vote of those present. The person nominating the top voted book will serve as the discusssion leader at the next book club meeting.

Logistics: We meet in member homes, allowing 7-7:15 PM as a time to gather, and get a drink and nibbles. The remainder of the meeting is devoted to discussion of the book for that evening. The host changes for each meeting. Generally, the host is not the discussion leader. The host provides light refreshments, such as coffee, tea, cookies, wine & cheese, etc.  Note:  During the pandemic, we meet virtually on Zoom.
