The League of Women Voters is pleased to welcome Christina Brooks as the speaker for our upcoming Lunch with the League event on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Chocolate Café in downtown South Bend from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. Brooks will speak on “The Impact of the Shelby Decision and the African American Vote: What Could This Mean for South Bend?”

Christina Brooks is a results-driven professional with 20 years of experience working with underrepresented populations in public, private, local, national and international settings. The Shelby Decision is a 2013 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that effectively allowed districts with a history of racial discrimination to enact strict voter photo ID laws without federal approval.

This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are welcome to arrive early to purchase lunch before the talk.
