SOUTH BEND — South Bend residents will have the opportunity to meet candidates for mayor, Common Council and city clerk at an event from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the St. Joseph County Public Library, 304 S. Main St.

All candidates for city office who will be on the May 7 primary election ballot have been invited to participate. During the forum, each candidate will be invited to make a two-minute statement to the audience.

The forum will be in the Humphreys Room on the lower level of the Main Library. Overflow seating will be available in the library’s Colfax Auditorium.

Those attending will be able to chat one-on-one with candidates and browse candidate information tables from 5:30 to 5:50 p.m., and after the forum ends at 7:45 p.m.

For those who can’t attend, the library plans to stream the event live on its You Tube channel.

The event is hosted by the library, Indiana University South Bend’s American Democracy Project and the League of Women Voters of the South Bend Area
