When Women Work: Fair Trade and Economic Empowerment is canceled. Please check back soon for information on our next Lunch with the League.

Lunch with the LeagueThe League of Women Voters is pleased to welcome Courtney Kubly as the speaker to Lunch with the League on Friday, April 12, 2019, at the Chocolate Café in downtown South Bend from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Kubly is the store manager for Ten Thousand Villages, a fair trade retailer in Granger and will discuss how empowering women is one of the most effective tools for improving the lives of families, communities, and nations all over the world. Women make up two-thirds of the world's workforce, yet earn only ten percent of the world’s income.

Kubly graduated with a degree in Communications and Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Before joining Ten Thousand Villages just over a year ago, she spent 20 years working in a corporate retail environment. In addition to her involvement at Ten Thousand Villages, she serves and volunteers on many South Bend non-profit boards, including the YWCA, Center for the Homeless, and Youth Service Bureau. She is also a child advocate in the Court Appointed Special Advocate program (CASA).

This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are welcome to arrive early to purchase lunch before the talk.
