Fair Trade in India: The Impact of Economic Empowerment of Women

Courtney Kubly, manager of Ten Thousand Villages in Mishawaka, will discuss the importance of fair trade and women artisans in India at Lunch with the League, August 9, 2019, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at the South Bend Chocolate Cafe, 122 S. Michigan.

Kubly recently traveled to Kolkata, India and met with women in fair trade to gain a deeper knowledge of the impact. When women are able to contribute to our global economy, the whole world wins.

Courtney Kubly, store manager of the non-profit fair-trade shop, Ten Thousand Villages, has a 20-year career in corporate retail and degrees in Communication and Public Relations. Kubly has a strong love for giving back to the community and volunteers with many local social service agencies such as Center for the Homeless, YWCA, and the CASA program.
