Julia Vaughn, policy director of Common Cause Indiana, will speak on Redistricting at Lunch with the League, Friday, September 14, 2018, at 12:00 noon, South Bend Chocolate Cafe, 122 S. Michigan, South Bend. Common Cause and the League of Women Voters of Indiana are co-founding partners of the Indiana Coalition for Independent Redistricting.
 
Vaughn will provide an overview of the redistricting process, explain the practice of gerrymandering and its impact on the elections process, provide both an update on recent legislative and judicial actions, and share her insights on what can be expected in the future and how citizens can continue the work for redistricting reform.
 
Julia Vaughn joined the organization in 1995 and is responsible for policy development, lobbying, grassroots organizing and coalition building in the Hoosier State. She previously served as director of health policy for the Citizens Action Coalition of Indiana, and as director of Count Us IN, a project sponsored by the Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities to increase political participation by Hoosiers with disabilities. Julia has a degree in telecommunications from Indiana University.
