Christina Brooks, Diversity and Inclusion Officer in the South Bend Mayor's office, will speak on “The Impact of the Shelby Decision and the African American Vote: What Could This Mean for South Bend?” from noon to 1 pm Friday, Oct. 12 as the Lunch with the League speaker at the South Bend Chocolate Café, 122 S. Michigan St., South Bend.

Christina is a results-driven professional with 20 years of experience working with underrepresented populations in public, private, local, national and international settings. The Shelby Decision is a 2013 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that effectively allowed districts with a history of racial discrimination to enact strict voter photo ID laws without federal approval.
