We are pleased to welcome South Bend’s own, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, as the speaker for our upcoming Lunch with the League on Friday, July 13 at the Chocolate Café in downtown South Bend from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. “Mayor Pete” will give an update on South Bend’s administrative activities and other topics related to the League's core mission of empowering voters and defending democracy. Mayor Pete holds the record of the youngest mayor serving a city of 100,00 people and was re-elected in 2015 with over 80% of the vote. Now in his second term, he has prioritized redevelopment. A 2017 candidate for Chair of the Democratic National Committee, he has been mentioned as a possible candidate for President of the United States in the 2020 election. This event is free and open to the public. You are welcome to arrive early to buy lunch before the talk.
