A group of individual voters, the League of Women Voters of Louisiana, and the League of Women Voters of Louisiana Education Fund today filed an emergency lawsuit in federal court seeking to block Secretary of State Nancy Landry’s implementation of Governor Jeff Landry’s unlawful executive order that attempts to suspend Louisiana’s congressional House primary elections after voting had already begun.

In March 2026, the Supreme Court determined that Colorado’s Conversion Therapy ban violated the First Amendment, in a major loss to LGBTQIA+ rights. 

Colorado moved quickly on two fronts: maintaining protections for youth in a way consistent with the First Amendment and strengthening accountability for past harm.

A federal District Court heard arguments today in a lawsuit challenging President Trump’s March 31 executive order concerning mail-in voting. Plaintiffs argue that the order violates the US Constitution and federal law and risks mass disenfranchisement of eligible voters.
