We would like this presentation to focus on actions that your organizations are taking to defend democracy in the present time and how you are laying the foundation for long term reforms to democracy so that we don’t continue to experience the threats that we are presently experiencing. How can viewers of this program be involved in supporting these efforts?
Focus questions:
- What is presently being done to help curb executive power and what if anything is working? (Example: Legal challenges)
- What efforts are being made by activists to protect the 2026 and 2028 elections?
- What strategies for non-violent activism work and how do you recommend people find their way to participate and be engaged?
- What are the reforms to democracy that we need to fight for so that we don’t experience these threats to democracy? Who is doing this work? How do individuals stay involved to fight for these long term reforms?
