LWV Wellesley Positions

Local Positions
Position In Brief:

The LWVW conducted a yearlong review of our LWVW positions in 2016-2017 in order to make recommendations for possible changes. Our League has conducted many local studies over the years and has many documented positions as a result. We have taken action based on some of these positions in recent years (most recently to support the plastic bag bylaw approved by Town Meeting last spring), but many other positions needed to be revisited. A review committee, open to all LWVW members, evaluated our positions to determine, among other things, whether the position was still relevant, whether new information had become available which might alter our position, and whether the subject of the position warranted a new study due to community/membership interest.

The updated LWVW positions, updated on May 17, 2023 at the Annual Meeting, can be found here.

At the most recent Annual Meeting on May 25, 2022, the LWVW voted to re-adopt the League of Women Voters of Wellesley Local Program.
