League of Women Voters of Michigan
 Solar Energy Action Alert

The League of Women Voters of Michigan supports making clean solar energy accessible for all people in Michigan. But for months several bills that would do just that have been languishing in the Michigan State House Energy Committee despite bipartisan support.

The bills are:
  •  House Bill 4236 - would lift the arbitrary 1% cap on who can benefit from solar panels installed on their homes, and

  • House Bills 4715 and 4716 - would allow more community solar programs, so that everyone in Michigan, even if they don't own a home, can participate in clean solar energy.

Please join the LWVMI in urging your State Representatives to bring these bipartisan bills to the floor and pass them, to help Michigan to do its part to fight climate change.

Earth Day is April 22, 2022, a perfect time to take action and for us to remember that:

 There is no Planet B
We all need to work together to fight climate change NOW.
While we still can.
