The Michigan State House passed HB4765, which would establish documentary proof of citizenship requirements for voter registration.

This represents another disinformation-fueled attempt to disenfranchise Michigan voters.  Michigan voters have overwhemingly chosen to protect and expand access to the ballot box, and this legislation is a direct violation of the Michigan Constitution.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) demanded that the Wayne County Clerk turn over the county’s 2024 ballots and other election materials. The Michigan Attorney General, Dana Nessel, together with Gov. Whitmer and Secretary of State Benson, responded to the DOJ, calling out the Trump Administration’s efforts to interfere in our elections and the fact that they are recycling old, long-debunked conspiracy theories and claims the courts rejected years ago.
