Who We Are. What We Do.
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government. League influences public policy through education and advocacy. The Highland Park League was founded in 1928. The league was expanded to include Highwood in 2011.

The bylaws of the League of Women Voters of the United States stipulate that the League of Women Voters “shall not support or oppose any political party or candidate.” This policy of nonpartisanship has always been a source of strength to the LWV and must be zealously guarded. It is the cornerstone of our voter service efforts. Here is our local League's Nonpartisan Policy

Did you miss the program about a Moraine Township referendum item on the Nov 5th ballot?
Did you know? ... that a refendum to create a Moraine Township Community Mental Health Board will be on the November 2024 ballot? Our League hosted an educational panel discussion with two Township Supervisors who already have Community Mental Health Boards and Moraine Township Supervisor, Anne Bassi. The program was on September 18th at 6:00 pm, Highwood Library and Community Center.
