The League released the following statement after the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota became the twenty-third court to dismiss the Justice Department's lawsuit demanding unlawful disclosure of private voter information.

Election observers are people who observe various steps in the election process. In doing so, members of the public can provide independent verification of election results’ accuracy and counter attempts to discredit elections.

By volunteering as an observer, you can make a difference by creating a public record of how votes are counted, leading to increased trust in election outcomes.

Article - Rally at Media Courthouse Commemorates Voting Rights Act appeared in the Delaware County Daily Times on August 8, 2026. The rally commemorated the Voting Rights Act of 1965 at the Delaware County courthouse Saturday, joining a network of others occurring throughout the country. It was part of the nationwide League of Women Voters Unite & Rise Day of Action and part of Women Defend Democracy with the goal to engage and mobilize 8.5 million voters to protect and preserve American democracy.

The Unite & Rise for Voting Rights Rally was hosted by the League of Women Voters of Delaware County Inter League Organization, members of the NAACP of Media, the PA Youth Vote, the Girl Scouts of America and America 250 PA/Delco and Delco Indivisible also participated.
