 THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF THE SOUTH BEND AREA AND THE ST. JOSEPH COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY TO HOST NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY EVENT 9/24 AT THE MAIN AND LASALLE LIBRARIES 

South Bend, Indiana—The League of Women Voters of the South Bend Area and the St. Joseph County Public Library are proud to co-sponsor National Voter Registration Day events on September 24, 2019, at the Main and LaSalle Libraries. Volunteers will be available between 4 and 8 p.m. to assist citizens with new registrations and name or address changes to existing registration records.

October 7, 2019, is the deadline to register for the November 5 municipal election.

“The League and the St. Joseph County Public Library share a commitment to fostering an informed and engaged community,” said Elizabeth Bennion, Director of Voter Services and Education for the South Bend Area League. “The League invites all local citizens to register to vote, update their registration, or confirm their registration status on National Voter Registration Day,” Bennion added.

The League of Women Voters of the South Bend Area and the St. Joseph County Public Library are also partnering to give local voters an opportunity to meet the candidates before casting their ballots. “We are thrilled to partner with area libraries to make sure that local citizens are registered to vote and to provide South Bend residents with an opportunity to meet all the candidates on the November ballot. Such an opportunity will occur on September 30 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the downtown library," said Diane Schmitz, Director of Voter Registration for the South Bend Area League.
