League Day is January 27

The LWV of Virginia has been providing an annual nonpartisan forum, called the Women's Legislative Roundtable (WLRT), open to the public on Wednesday mornings during the General Assembly to discuss and share information on issues and legislation  since the 1980s.  The 2021 WLRT meetings begin Wednesday January 13, 8:30 am to 9:30 am and will continue through Wednesday, February 3.  This year, these meetings will occur virtually by Zoom and registration is required to obtain the Zoom link.

Legislators are invited to speak about bills they are sponsoring and to answer questions. Leaders of nonprofit groups are welcome to talk about their priority issues. LWV-VA lobbyists and Issue Group Leaders give updates on LWV-VA priority issues.

This year we will meet via Zoom. The General Assembly session is only four weeks this year, so we will have four meetings. Click here to register to receive the zoom link for the WLRTs. Please note that topics for WLRTs are subject to change.

You can register for one or all at the same time; the same Zoom link will be used for all and will be sent one day before each WLRT begins!

Jan. 20, 8:30-9:30 a.m. Campaign Finance Reform, National Popular Vote Compact, Voting Rights Act

Jan. 27, League Day 8:30-11:30 a.m. Criminal Justice, Broadband Access, Education  Adele McClure, Executive Director of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus, is our keynote speaker. Confirmed General Assembly speakers are Delegates Don L. Scott Jr., 80th District, and Vivian E. Watts, 39th District.
